Some People Do

“Some People Do”
Acts 18:1-8
October 29, 2017

In obedience to God’s command to go into all the world and make disciple of all nations, Bethany partners with missionaries and missions, both internationally and nationally, to help people become followers of Jesus and to establish and/or assist churches in those regions.

There is a Gospel element to all we do locally, nationally, and internationally.

We are here.

It has been my experience that most people . . .
a. do not want to talk about Jesus.
b. want to talk about Jesus.
c. are uninterested in talking about Jesus.
d. are interested in talking about Jesus.

It has been my experience . . .

Many who refer to themselves as followers of Jesus seldom or never engage in a conversation with someone who does not know or follow Jesus.

We are to go to them, they are not to come looking for us.

The message of the Gospel and Jesus is about grace and freedom. We have been set free to talk about Jesus.

It may be that most people don’t want to talk about Jesus, but some people do.

Mark 6:6-11

It’s often pointed out that Jesus said, “If any place will not welcome you or listen to you, shake the dust off your feet.”

If Jesus says that some people will not welcome or listen, then it seems He is also saying that some people will.

Acts 18:1-8

It appears that in Corinth most people didn’t want to hear about Jesus.

After leaving the synagogue, some people did.

“Take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ.”
-2 Corinthians 10:5

Jesus often moves at a slower pace than we do, so don’t be afraid to follow.
