A Christmas Parable

“A Christmas Parable”
Matthew 18:21-35
November 26, 2017

Have you decided where you are going for Christmas this year?

If we don’t decide where we’re going, someone else will decide for us.

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
-2 Corinthians 10:5

“We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ.”
-2 Corinthians 10:5

Have you decided where you are going for Christmas this year?

Philippians 2:1-11

Most often the focus of Christmas is celebration and thanksgiving.

What if this year we respond in a way that fits the gift we have received?

Some gifts change us.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.”
-Proverbs 3:5-6 (NASB)

What if this year we respond in a way that fits the gift we have received?

I am to respond by doing what Jesus did for me.

A Christmas Parable
Matthew 18:21-35

An appropriate response to God’s mercy and grace is for us to give mercy and grace.

Instead of just celebrating Christmas this year, let’s be transformed by Christmas this year.
